The problem is, I love and eat a lot of carbs. I've once tried to go on a vegetable and fruit diet but I couldn't stand it after a few days. I'm ready now to give it a try again and i'm looking for suggestions of what to make with just vegetables, fruits and proteins for a week or two (baby steps, hehe).
I'd appreciate suggestions and hopefully I'll be able to come up with a plan and update you all as I go along with it.
Btw, I made this vegetable pasta with gizzard yesterday. My recipe for the dish can be found here on Eya's blog - wives connection
Hope you enjoy it and please don't forget to send in your ideas!!

Hello dearie
ReplyDeleteHope all is well
I am happy to say I have been able to reduce my carbs and I actually feel so much lighter
My suggestions
- I meal with carbs per day and preferably early in the day so you can burn it off. Even this meal has to have small carbs
- Make sure you have breakfast (oat meal is great)
- Avoid sugar
- Avoid fried foods
- No carbs after 6pm
- Some 'Carb-free meals':
....Grilled Tilapia Fish and Salad
....Roast chicken and coleslaw
....Fruit smoothies i.e. banana/ watermelon or oranges / apples for supper
....Black eyed beans (no palm oil) + grilled fish
....Steak or suya and coleslaw
....Moi moi alone
These worked for me. I must mention that I do eat carbs but very little.
Best of luck
xxxxx
Thank you NIL. These suggestions sound very good. I'll miss my fried yam and plantain though :-(; and the beans with palm oil though I only eat this once in a while. I hope its ok to replace white sugar with brown sugar? I hardly take sugary stuff but at least when I do, I intend to use brown instead. Thanks for the tips. Will try and give updates!!
DeleteEveryone is just talking about food on their blogs nowadays. I enjoy looking at the pics of the food sha.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I guess everyone is talking about what interests them for now. I like cooking and I may write about food once in a while. For this food post though, I preferred to send it to Eya since her blog is mostly for food. I also enjoy looking at the pictures as well...
DeleteI would definitely advice going through Adura's blog. She has healthy recipes. http://www.adura-o.com/
ReplyDeleteAll the best as you embark on this journey!
Hi Stellz, thanks 4 d link. Thank God for d many salad recipes. Sometimes eat just salad with a piece of chicken. I am commenting with somebody's fone.
ReplyDeleteEya
Try salad breakfast too. Foods like pepper soup can be eaten as a meal. With your fruits or veggies. I am inspired to go d vegetarian way too, at least 4 some wks.
ReplyDeleteHi Stellz, back with my system now.
ReplyDeleteYour updates don't show on my blogroll, I don't know why. Your blog is added already. Maybe you check your settings.
NIL is on point. Most of my dinners are salads with meat. Try that, and more moi-moi or beans meals. ALl the best.
ReplyDeleteI can't be of help here.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are running from it, me I am looking for carb-enriched meals. I have ice cream with breakfast with egg/mayonnaise sandwich (white bread), pasta for lunch(lots of it), some fruits in between, Muffin and custard as a light dinner, more snacking in between as I blog hop or work on my laptop.
I tire for my body..I still look scrawny.
p.s. Thanks for reminding me of gizzards!!! I bought kidney and liver recently to make stew but I knew there was an offal missing but I couldnt remember its name.
I am having a love hate relationship with food right now...I love eating but its starting to pile up in all sorts of places on my body and I'm in need of HELP!!! Let me know any suggestions you get...:)
ReplyDeleteI need carb free foods also...I think NIL has done justice to the question asked.
